It was 1924
It was the year the U.S. Supreme Court upheld the New York state law forbidding late night work for women…the year of the passing of Lenin and Woodrow Wilson, of Joseph Conrad and Puccini…the year of the first Olympic Winter games…of George Gershwin’s Rhapsody in Blue…the birth of MGM Studios, Marlon Brando, and the electrocardiogram. It was the year Will Rogers said, “I don’t make jokes – I just watch the government and report the facts.” It was the year a Newark radio broadcast was heard in Tokyo, over 9,000 miles away.
It was 1924 and in Biloxi, it was the year that Frank. P. Corso established his business at 221 Caillavet Street for the wholesale distribution of cigars, tobacco, candies, pencils, paper bags, castor oil and a variety of other products. His trucks serviced merchants as far west as Bay St. Louis, north to Wiggins, and east to Pascagoula. His reputation for hard work and excellence in products and service went even further. He was equally committed to the service of his community and his fellow man.
Today, Frank P. Corso Inc. continues as a highly regarded wholesale distribution center. The family owned and operated company proudly maintains the high standards of excellence that were established under the direction of its beloved founder, Frank P. Corso, Sr.
